We decided early on we wanted to be open to new experiences that would come our way, as we travelled through the old and the new of Kyoto. We made sure we both wore comfy shoes and stayed hydrated as we moved through the crowded temples, and at time quiet corners and alleys.
She’s big, she is beautiful and widely complex in her construction. She is one of the biggest representation of Australian Architecture, heritage listed and she pulls a big crowd.
“Art is beauty, the perpetual invention of detail, the choice of words, the exquisite care of execution.”
As we are getting into that middle part of the week, for some of us we have already pass those Monday recharge, Tuesday flow, and now pulling through into the working Wednesday. Today as I look up towards the ceiling, above my desk, and I found this detail, quite comical and yet refined. Though the beautiful running ceiling motifs of the leaves and berries show the age and detail of this building, the air conditioning unit provides that funny push of modern taken over. However it surprising becomes complimentary, with the air conditions rounded form, echoing the curved ceiling ornament… but that’s just design talk from my end.
